Our first time working with Freiburger Filmforum (FIFO) was a blast. This was at the end of the COVID 19 pandemic and the FIFO team wanted to build on their long tradition of engaging the local community and bring everyone together after months of isolation and social distancing. 

A wider focus of the festival that year was to expand into a series of virtual happenings. This took the form of #Junctions, a series of screening events that took place in Nairobi and Karachi. The use of graphic and expressive typography establishes the distinctive look for the festival for this edition. We also played with the idea of obscuring and highlighting details from film stills and clips using inset boxes. Applied across posters, banners, print and digital advertising, it was the start of ongoing collaborations between us and the FIFO team.
